Abstract

Abstract Maritime is a world civilization because the interests of countries in the world will be determined by how the management and utilization of the sea for the prosperity and sustainability of the nations of the world. Likewise, Indonesia, which 70% of its territory is sea and ocean, needs to put its development direction as an Maritime State. The ancestors of the Indonesian people had reached the golden age as a maritime nation at the time of the Mataram and Sriwijaya Kingdoms and other kingdoms in the archipelago who "controlled the sea" from various parts of the earth so as to gain prosperity for their people from the sea through economic activities and global trade by utilizing the sea. The era of maritime glory faded during colonial times and has an impact on development orientation that has not integrated land and sea development as a development force for the welfare of the Indonesian people.Keywords: Management and utilization of the sea, land and sea development
