Abstract

Abstract Indonesia is a maritime country and the largest archipelago in the world, and before the colonial period of Indonesia through the triumph of the Kingdom of Srivijaya, the Majapahit Kingdom, and a number of Islamic sultanates were once a maritime country that was resilient, quite prosperous, and respected by the world community. But as a maritime nation and the largest archipelago in the world, whose territorial sea includes the EEZ covers 75 percent of the total area and consists of 17,504 islands, the achievement of marine economic development results is still far from the optimal potential of marine owned by Indonesia. Indonesia is still experiencing difficulties in utilizing its marine areas which are rich in fishery resources due to the Government's inadequacy in strengthening the national fishing fleet in order to enhance marine economic development so that it can be more beneficial for the public interest.Keywords: Management and utilization of the sea, land and sea development
